Bijective Parameterization With Free Boundaries

A fully automatic method for generating guaranteed bijective surface parameterizations from triangulated 3D surfaces. Unlike previous methods, it does not require the boundary to be constrained to a non-intersecting shape to guarantee a bijection, and the boundary is free to change shape during the optimization to minimize distortion.

Computing Locally Injective Mappings by Advanced MIPS

Computing locally injective mapping with low distortion is a fundamental task in computer graphics. By revisiting the well-known MIPS method, this paper introduces an advanced MIPS method that guarantees local injectivity and effectively and efficiently suppresses maximal distortions.

Seamless Surface Mappings

Introducing an algorithm for computing bijective low-distortion surface-maps that interpolate a set of user-prescribed correspondences. Most mapping algorithms cut the meshes and map them to a common planar domain. The main novelty in this new method is that the choice of cuts has no effect on the resulting map.

Bounded-Distortion Harmonic Mappings in the Plane

A framework for computation of harmonic and conformal mappings in the plane with mathematical guarantees that the computed mappings are smooth and locally injective, and that they satisfy strict bounds on the conformal and isometric distortion. Such mappings are very desirable in many computer graphics and geometry-processing applications.
